Saint Savannah

When I first visited the city of Savannah, I was amazed by the sheer amount of churches on nearly every corner, each one unique in its own right. I myself am not a religious person, but find the churches of Savannah to be uniquely soulful. When I eventually moved here, I started noticing even more. Moving to a new city for anyone is a scary thing, and I definitely felt that pressure my first months living here. One day I found myself alone, aimlessly roaming the city when I stumbled upon the grand St. John’s Cathedral with the doors wide open. I had never seen a structure that beautiful, inside and out, and with me being extremely emotional, scared, and homesick, I cried tears of ambiguity. As an ode to that, and as an ode to completing my first college photography class with this project as the finale, I thought this was a proper final project.
